Renewing ohio license out of state

If your license has already expired, the Ohio BMV gives you up to 6 months after it expires to renew it without having to re-start the entire driver's licensing process. If your driver's license has been expired for more than 6 months, you will be required to re-apply for a new license. This means applying for an instruction permit and passing a road test.
